The Central European University (CEU) is a graduate-level, English-language university offering various degrees in social sciences, humanities, law, public policy, business management, environmental science, and mathematics. The university is located in Budapest, and accredited in both United States and Hungary.

CEU has more than 1500 students from 100 countries and 300 faculty members from more than 30. George Soros is a co-founder of CEU and a majority of CEU students receive either full or partial financial aid, thanks to the university's € 400 million endowment from him.

According to a study published by German newspaper Die Zeit, the CEU Department of Political Science is one of the best Political Science Department in Europe with only four universities ranking on higher positions. CEU Business School is consistently placed amongst the best Business Schools in Europe by QS TOPMBA survey.
